1. You can put in any of the variables below and even add some to try and sort items out (i.e., size 12 hippie tunic pants 197*). With over 6200 patterns and thousands more to come it will be rather mind-boggling otherwise! If you select a Link - say Retro clothing when you are in the link you can add size, style, just about any variable. I.E. in Retro link: retro dress 196* size 8 or retro pants jacket top size 12. Be creative and see what comes up!
2. To narrow down your search to an era you can click on the Era links or just put in the first three numbers and a * and anything from that era will show up. I.E. 196* 197* 198* 199* 200* and then any other particulars you are looking for.
3. To find a particular size: Just type in as an example Size 14. When patterns are multi-sized I separate the sizes so that you can find your exact size easily
4. To find a particular size and item of clothing: Just type in Size 14 dress or Size 12 pants, etc. ALSO - if you are looking for a BLOUSE also search for BLOUSES, SHIRT, SHIRTS, TOP, TOPS because description on envelope often has more than one style and you will find more using alternate words. I.E. skirt skirts jacket jackets shirt shirts nightgown nightgowns robe robes
5. To find a particular size, item and era: Type in for example - size 14 dress 197* and that will give you only dresses in that size and era. You can also go to my era search links and from there put in your particular size and item
6. You are looking for "pantsuits" or career woman office style outfits. Do a search for your size and the words jacket pants skirt or your search variable if you just want a jacket and pants. I list items with close to exact wording and most don't use the term pantsuit.
7. You find a particular pattern you want but it's the wrong size: Take the pattern number and re-enter it in the search box. I list different sizes as separate items and this way you can see if the pattern is available in another size
8. NEW PATTERNS! I don't use the word new because the patterns I find have been previously owned. An unused pattern may be like new, or good as new. If you want UNCUT i.e. unused patterns use the word UNCUT and the era, or size or item you want. I.E. uncut 198* and then you can also add type of garment to that. For newer patterns you can search for 1990's and 2000 patterns in their link and enter the word UNCUT
